That is ridiculously awesome! I also love that Sebring snarl.
I have the Seduction stainless with Magnaflows. They sound good, but the Sebring is set at "11".

A few years ago Dario sold a stainless exhaust system for the Beck/Type 1 cars. Has anyone heard that system on a car? It had 1.75" primaries. http://members.shaw.ca/race356/550Exhaust.html

If you are asking about the somewhat crude looking exhaust on my car; yes, I fabricated it. At the time, the idea was to make something on the theme of the Sebring exhaust, but create little mufflers in place of the Sebring's resonators. You might be able to see weld scars on the surface of my "mufflers" where slanted vanes were welded in. The muffler effort was a total failure, I don't think it quieted anything in the least.

One note on the subject of authenticity: I think (and I'm not a 550 guy) that the early 550s had exhaust like Dario's in two posts above. Later 550s, like the 550-A had the Sebring style exhaust (not like mine, but like the real thing). All of the 718s continued from those 550s with the distinctive 4-4-1 Sebring style exhaust.

Kris,

I replied to your email with the specs. Still waiting on shipping quotes cheaper than we received to Hawaii.

Kris, FYI Decibels is the measurement of sound. Decimals are numbers and fractions separated by a decimal point

I tripped over this today on speedsterowners: http://shop.vintagespeed.com.tw/s.nl/it.A/id.821/.f

I'm not sure how I feel about the F-117 looking resonators, but they advertise the exhaust as "quiet" (as in "stealth"?).

I'm getting the hang of the Gopro I mounted on the grills. It is still wobbling around. No more popping and backfiring thanksto everybody's help. I cleaned out the jets and most importantly, I finally got the sync deal ironed out. I took it around the block so you can hear the exhaust which is a Supertrapp with four into one configuration.

Kris, Don't mean to hijack the thread, but, how do you handle sudden rain since you live in HI?

exhaust sound

Postby egrant5329 » Sun Aug 13, 2017 12:37 pm

That's a great looking exhaust Kris!

My biggest noise issue with these cars is the wind buffeting on my right ear at highway speeds. The exhaust is nothing compared to the wind pounding my ear drum. I'm surprised no else complains about it.
