I think you number is probably generous, I kind of like the pronounced fenders - they are different and speak to the period when jet planes were exotic.

I absolutely agree. As I said, I think the newer lower, rounder clams are prettier. But that's clearly in the eye of the beholder. The. Carrera Panamericana car nearly had fins. Clearly authentic, but not the sort of thing I'd want to emulate. In addition to an the variations from the factory, many were hammered back into shape after racing incidents.

Here is a photo of Beck # 067. Notice how the tail lights are correctly proportioned to the body...the empty flat spots with small lens are unattractive. As for the license plate, you just put in a mounting frame (small and unobtrusive) and it nicely moves the plate away from the bodywork.

I get what you are saying on the tail lights. The problem is down under we have to the split lens with amber for the turn signal and red brake light. In addition the have to "E mark" (like DOT) approval.

So not much latitude for a legal light.

Ken,

Assuming that you want to make a change...can you not just put the "proper" stuff back at inspection time and run what you like the rest of the time ?

My new Vintage 190 wheels arrived- they look great. Who made the exhaust on your customer's car.

Yes, it is worth it. The lower-fender clamshell just looks more "right".
From what I remember, the original car Chuck took the mold of was wrecked and repaired and they didn't fix it quite right, and hence all the replicas were wrong.

Larry, I agree with you though, there are so many other cues to signify a replica for those that know.

Ken,

When you get those 190s installed, please post a few pictures.
I'm thinking of getting a set, but I'd love to see them on a Spyder.

Thanks,
Carlos

Ken are those 4.5" or 5.5" on the rear?

They are 4.5's

I have long axles and 5.5's would not fit under the wheel arch.
