Gas tank flush on Glöckler Spyder 550 without tank removal..

Postby Timotaeus » Mon Jun 25, 2018 5:12 pm

i am flabergasted. The previous owner decided it was a good idea to glass in the gas tank. I'm sure by the doors there was a fitment issue. I just put installed new dual Kadron carbs and don't want dirty fuel in there. any ideas on flushing a tank without removal? I've seen a lot of youtube videos but most require tank removal to clean and coat.

at a loss.....

Thanks, Tim

Yes, if you can't get at the spigot on the bottom, fill the tank with cheap gas, undo your fuel line at the carb, turn on the ignition and pump all the gas through to a fuel can. Use the "dirty" fuel in your lawn mower. Change your fuel filter(s).

If you can get at the spigot, fill it, drain it though a coffee filter. Repeat. Another thing: have someone help you rock the car back and forth with the tank 3/4 full to slosh the fuel around in the tank.
