New US Spec Racer underway

Postby WasserSpyder » Wed May 24, 2006 3:28 am

Just thought I'd share a few photos of the upcoming US Spec racecars. They are a long way from being completed, but underway nonetheless...

In case you missed it earlier, here is a shot \"at speed\".
Obviously not the sexy curves of the spyder, but very functional... the car pictured below hit just a tad below 300KPH at Interlagos!!

Carey,

We need more info! At least I do.

What part of the country will they be running? Who is the sanctioning body? What are the mechanical details (engine, trans, brakes, suspension)? Kits or turnkey?

Thanks
Aaron

Aaron,
I'll fill everyone (so far you :) ) in as decisions are made. The \"test\" platform is at Chucks now, and we are playing with 3 different powerplants, but nothing is set in stone.
I was also asked not to speak about homoligation and classes until things were further along. Quite honestly, I have been left in the dark for most of it, probably so I wouldn't run my mouth and jinx the process... :D

Just wanted to post some \"spy shots\" as a teaser of things to come...

Simon- I know you like to be teased... I sat and watched it for 2+ years! LOL

Streetable won't be a problem, not the main goal, but if someone wanted it for the street it could be done.
I'm thinking a WRX STi 2.5TT would make a HELL of a street car!

oh, man. that brought back flashbacks...and not the good kind!

i'm definitely going to keep an eye on it as the spec racer comes together.

would i have to pay extra to make sure my door is a matching color? ;)

Carey,

Thanks for what little you can tell us.

Any chance you could sell 'body kits' for existing cars? Looks like the front dam, side curtains and rear deck could be designed into a bolt-on conversion for an existing car.

Do really like that Carey, would look great in black or silver

But do think it would look better at the front if the front completely wrapped around as with the edited photo below

Don't see any attachment, but I think I can visualize what you mean.
The \"mouth\" has to be open for a radiator, but you could extend the lower \"air dam\" area and close the gap in the middle..?? Is that what you mean?

And now it's there... I wonder if me not being signed in had anything to do with viewing the attachment?? Maybe it's just too damn early...
Anyway, obviously that is what you meant. Like the look. Might have to play with one and see what happens.
