Dear All,

First I like to introduce.

My name is Sander and come from the Netherlands

I'm building a 550 spyder based on a beetle frame from "69

I started this project as a dream from me and my father, our hobby was to see the 1000 miglia in Italy we went every year

Than we start to produce a Miglia Porsche, only he get an exident and past away from us....
I'll finish his dream.....

I hope, couse this takes emotions.....and.....

I'll stop my posting on this f.. forum, as you already delete my post it has no sence for me to inform you all with my project.... as my emotions are not interested

Nice project Sander! Where in NL are you? I lived in Amstelveen for a couple of years working for Philips on a KLM project. My wife and I were married in the castle Kasteel de Haar near Utrecht. What a nice country you live in!

It´s a sweet detail, but be aware that sooner or later, they will cause small cracks in the fiberglas.
"Fibersteel" is developing a kind of "aluminium-cap" to be fixed with rivets on top of the body and a gasket in between.
Maybe you should give this a try.

Mine have been in since the car was built in 1991 and have created no crack problems. The one problem that you might have to be aware of is that they will limit the height of your intakes/carbs/filters. So depending on what combination you are running, they may not work. I use short intakes (also run phenolic spacers between heads / intakes / carbs to aid in cooling from short intakes) with 48IDFs and 2.5" velocity stacks. IDAs will be a problem if you want to use any filters.

Ooops, I wasn't thinking about your car having the engine in the rear, so my above comments don't apply. #-o
