I'll cruise by, and watch from the Fisherman's Wife restaurant, but I'm not driving the Spyder this year.

Not me; the route was gutted when they lost the drive up Ocean Ave. in Carmel. Will try for the Tues/ Thurs events in Carmel & maybe more; as well as $20 paddock admission, FREE track admission, Prehistoric races next weekend: 8/13-14

Re: Pacific Grove Rally 8/18/2017 - NEXT year!

Next year's (2017's) Pebble Beach Concours is on Sunday 8/20
the Pacific Grove Concours and Rally will be Friday 8/18
.
I agree the Rally's not the same without the downtown Carmel portion - but the event is still replica-friendly, and has been a great place to gather the replica Porsche Spyders -
.
One concern for many has been finding housing for one or a few nights - hotels tend to be very pricey, and may demand 2-3 night minimums - we've tried various options and a couple years have been able to book a room for one night at
Asilomar -
.
try it (online - http://www.visitasilomar.com) ASAP and you may find a room for less than market cost available for one night - don't wait too long though.

Rick,

This year's event was still fun even with the shortened drive. Only 1 other (black) Spyder from Arizona. Hope to see more Spyders next year :nana:

Another option for accommodations is AirBnB. We found a very nice place a few years ago and it was very reasonable
