Aluminum Wide 5 Wheels - Vintage 190

Postby Aussiespyder » Wed Apr 26, 2017 5:18 pm

Has anyone had experience with Greg's aluminum wide 5 wheels.

His site says they have a 4" back space. Standard 356 wheels have a 3.75" back space and I'm wondering if the extra 1/4 inch comes from the thick aluminum wall of the rim. I would also like to know the dimension from the mountion flange to the insider of the out tire bead.

I have steel wheels that have the tire very close almost rubbing the rear inner fender. So I am concerned that these new wheels might cause the tire to rub.

Has anyone purchased these? they look great on the Vintage website.

Greg has anwered my question by email and confirmed 1/4 in more backspace will give me a greater tire clearance.

Thanks Greg
