Airkewld Brake Kits for Spyders.

Postby D_Man » Tue Dec 22, 2009 6:05 pm

Pete at Airkewld.com is now offering Brake kits for our cars.

I purchased a set for my VS front's , these kits offer lots of different hub options, not just 5x205.

Calipers are Wilwood 2-piston and top quality, comparable to CSP brakes.
Precision cut rotors with changeable wheel hubs. Nice!

That's too funny. I ordered a set from Airkewld about a month ago. The note on these brakes is that they widen the track on the front by 1/2\". if you can do that with your tire set-up, go for it. I didn't think I could so I got the single piston willwoods. The kit includes a dual master cylinder (made in China) and the rears are (Chinese made) calipers and pads from a Rabbit. The parts made by Airkewled are very good and fit perfectly. Also the rotors now come blackened.
I was going to do a review once my parts came from Vintage so I could put them on the front and check out the clearances. Pete was a good guy to deal with. I ordered 14mm studs and he sent rotors with 12mm studs, he sending me 14mm studs at no charge. The kit is good, but it is not as good as the CSP products. (All german made and zero offset with vented disks) , but the price is right.
If you are interested in shipping, it comes in 3 boxes @37lbs each (for front and rears)

Hi -

Quick question -

What width are the rotors? Are they 0.5\" or 0.375\"?

I already have 4 pot wilwood calipers, and I'm wondering If I can use them...

Thanks!
Simon
