Fibersteel experience??

Postby IM12404 » Sat Jan 08, 2011 5:50 am

Does anyone have experience buying a turn key 550 from Fibersteel post Aoutomotive Legends? I've only read good things on this site but these were generaly for parts and not a car. I have talk to both Russ & Alex and get a good feeling from both. I just want to varify so I'm not in the 550 dream trance. If there is anything I should know but you don't want to post please email me or do the PM thing.

Thanks,
Dan Zimmerman (IM12404)

Russ has always been a top notch fabricator. In all my years of being on this board, I can only remember 1 adverse incident involving Russ.

Personally, I think Automotive Legends needed Russ, because Russ certainly didn't need them.

Talk to Hotrod Harry, he owned a car built by Fibersteel.

Top notch workmanship and great attention to detail.

Russ and Alex are two of the nicest guys I have ever dealt with.

I had a bit of a hiccup with one of my orders, but Russ made it right. I was quite pleased with the quality of my hubs.

OK. Educate me here guys... I have seen several cars optioned out by Russ, but they were all either my body or Greg's body. I heard that he bought the old Prestige molds and was planning on making his own spyder, but that has been years ago and I have not seen one, or even heard of one on the road. Am I missing something? Has anyone seen a \"fibersteel\" spyder?
And I do want to say that I am not asking this to stir the pot, I am serious. I appreciate Russ' craftsmanship and he has certainly helped further our little hobby, so no ill intentions in my question at all.

It's true Russ has gotten bodies from a number of supplyers but then has put his touch on the finished product. He will make his own bodies one day but the craftsmanship in putting together what you want and when you want it is tops. He did lots of work on my car. kd

Hi Andrew,
no, not necessarily this one, but I have an agreement with Russ, that one out of the first batch he´s currently producing, will be for me.
