Stockton Wheel Service - out of business!

Does anyone on the west coast know what happened to Stockton Wheel Service?

I paid them $$$ to modify some wheels for me in the beginning of March. I saw a box outside today and got all excited that they were finally here. Open up the box and realize they are unmodified wheels! Check their website to call them and see what happened, and they have a note on there saying they are closed for business as of March 31st!

Check my credit card, and no credit! So now I'm fighting it out with the credit card company, but I'm also sad that apparently a business that's been around for over 100 years is gone!

Anyone know anything?

Also, anyone know a good place to get wheels narrowed?

Thanks,

Simon

Wow, that's too bad Simon. At least you got your old wheels back. That is a plus.

Talk about bad luck! Around since 1883, and close 2 weeks after my order.
www.weldcraftwheels.com was an alternative - anyone have any experience?

I use Weldcraft all the time and they are top notch. Usually a 3-4 week turn around.

LOL you have such a way with words!! Not laughing at your misfortune, I am glad you got your wheels back, laughing at the example of bad luck, well stated!! :D Sounds like something that would happen to me!

This is to inform everyone that the reason Stockton Wheel Service is out of business is because the owner and long time family member ended his life. I know that all will be sad to hear this news. I just wanted to let everyone now what is behind this long time business. [:X]

Very sad to read about this... I had an order in process and worried not to receive any answer since my last two messages...
Was it an individual business, or would continue with employees?

That's horrible to hear.

Unfortunately from what I can tell, they have closed shop completely.

Sorry to hear they are no longer in business.

know for doing good work -- I was referred to use them to replace an outer rim on an 16\" original 356 wheel --- not sure who could do that work now ????
