Looks like a replica and not the real deal but regardless, a tragedy no doubt.

I put one of these in the car when I built it... with nozzles in the engine bay. Seemed like cheap insurance.

Just recommended and purschased the Element E50 fire extinguisher. Jay Leno has a youtube video supporting this product. Much better priced than the prior option. Anyone use it before?

From what people have previously reported, it sounds like the fiberglass cars burn so fast you are lucky to get stopped and get out of the car. It makes me wonder if extinguishers are worth the hassle. A racecar type fire suppression system like DannyP has makes the most sense. Then there are things like Blazecut http://blazecut.com/small-enclosures/en ... partments/, perhaps in combination with an extinguisher.

I run a 9' Blazecut and an extinguisher right now.

I'd like to do a race car system too.

I almost did the flaming car trick in my 914 once. It was still injected and the leak was a fine mist, begging for a spark. I had two extinguishers in that car.
