Hello again

Postby Phil Luebbert » Wed Jun 07, 2017 9:40 am

I was one of the original spyderclub members in 2000. Owned a 1999 Vintage and a 2002 Vintage (first subaru ever). Well I'm much older now and hopefully wiser. I'm currently building a new Vintage spyder. Hopefully this will be the last. Outfront 200 hp subaru. I think my car will have the first drive by wire gas pedal. Rancho 4-speed with LSD. Obviously I've learned a lot from the first 2. Hoping to get this one as close to perfection as possible. So, hey to all spyder friends old and new.

Sounds cool Phil. Is this Phil from the SOC group? I'm up in NVA I have a 2008 SE/Beck 559 with an air cooled Raby engine and a SE/Beck 2009 356.

Good luck with the build. If you have time some pics would be nice.

Welcome back, Phil! You may be the oldest guy here. I'm about a year behind you, I joined in 2001. LennyC was around then as well.

Another oldie here. I have been lurking since 1 Nov 2001 it seems. Still have the spyder since 1989, but it seems to spend more time in the hangar these days. Where does the time goes?

Actually, come to think of it, there were a whole bunch of guys already on spyderclub when I joined in January 2002. 2001 must have been a prolific year! [8D]

Welcome back Phil,

Off on a tangent, but it might be interesting for members to hear the history of this 'club' that was started by Bruce Ledoux and managed by Dave Avery before this website was brought on line. I occasionally see posts by Dave on Porsche forums and believe that Bruce moved on in his amateur racing quest. There was once an accessible archive that held articles from those early days. Some interesting folks have contributed their experiences over the years...informative, some very funny and other not so!
