Oh, well. I guess there comes a time. :(

I remember the first spyder trip I made was to meet-up with you and Rick J in San Mateo. That was the car's first real test because prior to that I never dared to drive it beyond pushing distance from home ;) . Anyway, it's been fun ever since.

I guess we might still see each other now and then at Sonoma Raceway, but N. California spyders have lost their keystone.

Will miss seeing you in the Spyder!

How'd you sell it?

Ditto wow!! Got my 1st Spyder ride with Ralph, what a treat. Hope you hang around to share your Spyder wisdom with us. And get the buyer to join this forum and introduce him (her) self to us. We may not see you at events, but will be nice to continue seeing your car there. All the best to Ralph

I'm the happy buyer. Ralph saw my thread introducing myself and asking about spyders for sale in SoCal. He PM'd me and the rest is history. The car is now enjoying the coastal breezes in Half Moon Bay.

I'm not new to Porsches or VWs. In fact, I was literally raised on them. Long story short, my father bought a 356 while stationed in Germany in 1953, brought it home to San Francisco, and ended up as a VW/Porsche salesman before I was even born. The store lost the Porsche franchise in the '60s, but my dad bought his own VW dealership later on, and stayed with VW for over 60 years. He owned Boardwalk VW in Redwood City.

I had a 1970 911E with a suped up 3.0L. It was 250 HP and very fast and fun to drive. But the spyder feels faster, is more nimble, and is way more fun to drive, if that's possible. I know now that these cars are our little secret.

I feel very lucky to be the new owner of Ralph's car. He's a great guy, and a great builder. The car is well balanced, comfortable around town, yet still an exciting race car on the open road. I won't be a stranger. Ralph, be sure to come to events so you can see your car. I might even let you sit in it.

I plan on going to the PV event. I grew up there. I went to Corte Madera School, right up the road.

I also would like to go to the San Martin gathering, but I might have another commitment that I can't skip. I'll know soon.
