More about James Dean than the 550...did get me to bother to read the article.
I'd think that would really *beep* you all off.
Porsche did not build the 550 so that JD could have one.
Just my very humble opinion.

Article was also in Porsche's brake news. Terrible article full of misinformation.

That's a Vintage in the picture. I seriously doubt its a 1500 or puts out 110 hp.

I've never really understood the Dean fascination. The article has nothing to do with the example we're looking at here.

Definitely early to mid-2000s Vintage. 2" main tubes running longitudinally, plus cowl hoop(only Vintage has this). Also, car has a cut-out oil-cooler grille(consistent with my old car). The front brakes are CSP, you can see the hubs. It looks like the tires are rubbing the fenders as well due to less backspace on the aluminum front wheels. You can also see the higher rear fenders with the gills.

I could tell you more if the bonnet was open. There are a few other tells as well, but I think I've detailed enough. Car appears to live a rough life if you see the paint damage.

Rough indeed. He let some knucklehead reporter who doesn't know how to drive a stick drive it.

Rough shape [?] ...the car belongs to a "Motoring Club"...the members rent the car for a day or two...they are not Niki Laudas or other retired F1 drivers [8D]
