where did everbody go?

Don your flame-proof suit and come on in! IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT THEN GET OUT!!!!
Post anything you wish within reason that is \"off-topic\" from a Spyder.

One of the best things that you can do to keep both sides of a windshield clean and free of road film is to polish it with wadded up newspaper. There is a small amount of kaolin in newsprint, which is a very fine clay. This enables the newsprint to polish the glass surface and remove impurities. You just have to wad up a newspaper folio, and go to work.

You can also use bronze wool to polish the glass. In addition, Griot's Garage now sells a special blend of clay specifically for polishing windshields:

Mike, I am into local breweries lately. Growler's rule! $9 refill for about 5 pints of fresh, good beer isn't a bad deal. If I know I am not going to drink it, I transfer the beer to a 2 liter soda bottle. Then I screw on a cap called the "Carbonator". Open the valve, squeeze out the air, then charge to 30-40 psi with CO2. The fitting is a quick-disconnect that matches my homebrew kegs. Nothing more than a stainless steel 5 gallon Cornelius keg for soda, or pop, depending on where you're from!

Been making beer for almost 20 years, love IPA this time of year, but am moving to lower ABV with the hot weather. Cool weather and highly hopped/high alcohol beer is GOOD.

Anyway, I had some gunk on my windshield that no chemical would get off. A friend suggested super fine steel wool, and it worked. Believe it or not, I have wipers from 2002 on my car. They work, don't chatter or streak or skip, and have been used a few times! Always garaged, never in the sun unless I am driving. All I have ever done to them is wash them when I wash the car. I have never used Rain-X.

I'm still flogging around the mountains here in Slovenia, though this week looks like it will be the last for a while. After a glorious summer, the cold spell is set to begin...
I want to turn the clock back fifty years...

Hello everyone. I lurk occasionally, but haven't posted in a long time. Since selling my Spyder, I've been involved in British cars more. I still have the Morgan, but now also have a '54 Jag xk120 FHC - been driving it on tours this past summer. I'm also doing the coach building on a frame off restoration of a 1948 MGTC for some friends. Lots of fun, but on sunny days I do miss the Spyder. Glad to see you are all still active and I see a lot of new names here.

Yup! Still kickin' My step son is now a doc in his second year of residency in Nor Cal. (I helped him move north this past summer from So Cal where he did his first year of residency.) I still keep very busy in retirement. Always keeping busy I think keeps me feeling younger. Retirement has been great.
