Name this 550 Spyder Exhaust...

Postby SeductionMotorsports » Tue Aug 13, 2013 11:07 am

Ok, came across this company: http://www.sharpbuilt.com.au

They made some carbon fiber fan shrouds a while back for Type IV Porsche/VW... I like this exhaust setup.. well not the entire thing, mainly the idea behind it... can anyone name this exhaust? I sort of think that company above built it specifically for this 550... but they aren't replying to emails so....

If anyone can name this exhaust that would be greatly appreciated. Looks ceramic coated or hot jet coated super chrome...

If you cannot name that exhaust and have other advise such as... where can one buy Type IV exhaust flanges that insert into the heads so one can fabricate their own exhaust and just weld on the flanges, that would also be greatly appreciated. I found one company that CNC's flanges... but would like to see other options.

On to the picture:

That looks like an early Porsche 901 transaxle. It's quite a bit different than a VW and uses a different method to release the clutch.

My best guess is it was custom made by Tangerine for this Type IV engine. Here's their web site: http://www.tangerineracing.com/tangerineheaders.htm
