Sonoma County wine

Postby Ralphc » Mon Mar 15, 2010 8:15 pm

To continue my part of this drifting thread...Finally back home. Turns out the wine thing was a barrel tasting of the 08's and 09's & not limited to one winery but involved several in Healdsburg, the Alexander Valley and the Dry Creek Valleys. 32nd annual, two consecutive weekends, this being the second. Wife's ex coworker had connections with several (actually all of them!) so spent some time in the 'wine club' areas enjoying the food & wine. Bought a case altogether but, most importantly, now have a line on scoring some Rafanelli Zin.
Awesome wines, awesome weather and incredible scenery. I envy you north coasters.

Glad you had a good time. We should make an event out of it next year. The roads all around Healdsburg are nothing short of spectacular. Lots of twisties, good road surface, few (if any) potholes, and wonderful wines on virtually every road leading into town from all directions. I will put this on my 2011 calendar as a reminder.

Mark and I were working on our cars. I don't know about Arch. But let's think about next year. [8D]

String along iflyfast and atticusman and it would be quite a parade! [8D]

Cars not running yet, and pushing the car up there is out of the question :) Give me another 2 or 3 months and I'll drive up and join you guys.

Tried that. No help. Tried on two different computers, same thing. Seems to be only this site. Takes a good 30 to 60 seconds to load home page. Sounds like some other people are experiencing the same thing, but not everyone...

Loading home page does a weird thing.
It does seem to take forever, but everything is already displayed.
I just go to the area I want and click on it. That seems to load at normal speed. Don't know what is behind the odd behavior.

Good point Dan. I just noticed that myself.

The site has not appeared slow at my end, however if I look at the fully loaded home page, I see in the status bar that it keeps on loading and loading and loading.

P.S.
I may also be experiencing disk activity during this time but that may be my over active paranoid imagination.

Site is SUPER rapid for me. If someone experiences a slowness, do a tracert (if on windows) from the command line and paste it here. Also let me know your ISP.

The server is running tops, I think it's possibly a local network issue for some.

Do you all mean the home page vs. the forums? I found that the map service had shut down, so I removed the frappr map of spyder owners. It appeared to be timing out.

That seems to have taken care of the loading problem. At least for me.
