Automatic log in not functioning

Postby TerryB » Tue Aug 26, 2003 3:41 pm

Dave:
Everytime I log in to post a reply, I check the box which provides for automatic log in. However, the next time around, the box is unchecked and the auto log in does not function. Is it supposed to? Thanks. Terry

It's all about the cookies, Terry

Postby Dave Avery » Tue Aug 26, 2003 4:04 pm

Terry, you have to allow spyderclub to put cookies on your machine. Do you see a little red privacy icon somewhere on your status bar from this page? Right click on it, and you can see what it's trying to do. Best thing to do is allow spyderclub cookies, they're good for message notifications as well.

Yep, you need to set your proper time zone in your profile.

At present, the bbs has a bug (their code, not ours) that appears to make you have to add one hour from your real time zone.

The northeast is GMT-5, but in order to get accurate times, you must choose GMT-4.

Dave,

I have seen a few sites using this type of board, and yours is one of the better designs. Great Job. As a fellow Net techi, I know this stuff is insanly frustrating at minum, keep up the good work.

Now, just a few quick things. I noticed your listed of fixed issues. Unfortnately, I'm not recieving any type of notifications for watched threads or pm's. I also noticed that my sig isn't showing up either.

...figures...my sig is on this one...Never mind on that :D

I got your email on this watched topic instantly... my guess is that you are blocking \"info@spyderclub.com\" somehow.

I just sent you a test email as well, and your settings look good. Perhaps it's being blocked. Using anything that would block emails?

Ummm . . . . . I don't want to be the first one to ask it, but WHAT?
Brian and I must have the same affliction. When I click on it, it says I'm also unauthorized -- no matter how many times I try to follow the instructions in red.
