cogito, I take pretty big exception with your analogy. I've been a copywriter for more than 25 years, and I also admire the writing of William Safire. How would you know that being an advertising copywriter is the \"yin\" to Safire's \"yang\"? Have you ever actually BEEN a copywriter? Do you have any idea at all what kind of talent and creativity is involved in being a successful copywriter?
Do you realize that William Safire was, in fact, an advertising copywriter and public relations executive at one point in his career? At least, by some miracle, you do realize that he was a writer. I'm sure Darcie wouldn't know the difference between William Safire and William Shatner.
Are you even remotely familiar with David Ogilvy, Bill Bernbach, and George Lois? Did you realize that the late, great automotive journalist David E. Davis was, in fact, once employed as a lowly advertising copywriter?
I probably should have realized the level of your ignorance when you stated that the last iteration of the MR2 was derived from the Celica platform. The ZZW30 iteration of the MR2, WHICH FORMED THE BASIS FOR THE LOTUS ELISE AND EXIGE, was completely unrelated to the Celica. For that matter, a Toyota MR2 and a Lotus Elise/Exige have a lot more in common with each other than an MR2 and a Celica.
If you're going to pontificate, then make sure that you're at least armed with a few facts.
